Ashley has lived in Auburn for over 10 years but grew up in Dekalb County. She is married with 2 bonus children. Ashley began her career in the local hospital working part time while obtaining her bachelor's degree. After completion Ashley began working at the Bowen Center in Auburn. She loved the work, but knew she wanted to do more for her community. She often states that the executive director position was a door opened by God as she had never considered working in a pregnancy center. God led Ashley through that door, and she has been the executive director since October of 2020. She has increased funding, programs, and online recognition in the time that she has been here. Ashley loves having the opportunity to talk to new moms and to be a helping hand up for families that are struggling. She continues to work part-time at the local hospital as well. When not working Ashley loves to be with family playing games, watering her always dying plants, continually dating her husband, and enjoying time with her two dogs.
Devin Freed, Executive Assistant
Devin is an Auburn native. She has been married to her husband for 15 years and they have 4 beautiful children. Devin worked in the hospital setting once she graduated college. After 13 years and 4 babies, she decided she wanted to spend more time with her children and made the decision to be a stay-at-home mom. Devin has always had a servant's heart and knew after her 4th child became a toddler that she wanted to get back to serving in some way. She has had a passion for women and children and was excited when DPC put out the search for an executive assistant. She has been working in this role and as a peer support specialist part time since May of 2022. She enjoys being able to mentor the mothers and fathers that come through our doors, and she is always willing to talk to anyone about services the center provides. When she is not working at the center, she enjoys spending time with her husband and children. She also aids her husband in his ministry as a Youth Pastor. Devin has been an integral part of DPC's growth over the past year and we are grateful to have her! Devin is excited to continue working and to see where God leads the center next.
Marcia Kessler, RN Nurse Manager
Marcia is a resident of Auburn where she has lived the majority of her life. She has been married to her husband for 34 years and they have a blended family with 5 children and 9 grandchildren. Marcia has had a nearly 40-year nursing career with many challenges but has enjoyed every moment. She believes God prepared her for a journey of helping others as she would often help take care of her mother who was quite ill during her teens. Much of Marcia's nursing experience revolved around obstetrical patients and newborns. When she retired early in 2022, she went down a different career path but was not fulfilled. God led Marcia to DPC through her daughter-in-law who was volunteering at the time. After meeting with the director and touring the center, she knew God had led her in the right direction. Marcia joined DPC in late 2022 as the Nurse Manager and earned her certification to complete limited first trimester ultrasounds in June 2023. When not working at the center Marcia enjoys attending her grandchildren's sporting events, doing activities with her grandchildren, cooking, reading, gardening, and is active in her church. She also enjoys a good meal out with her husband.
